Position Overview:
Part A below lists the requirements for the highest paid position! However, should you not have the experience outlined in Part A, we can very potentially hire and train you to become a ‘Topflight’ classic car technician.
Part A: To be successful at this job, you must have an excellent experienced foundation in classic car repairs, upgrades including fuel injection, sub chassis modernization, and modern crate engine replacements. In other words: How to correctly repair classic technology and how to ‘resto-mod’ classic vehicles (and how-to guestimate the repair time). However, this is a job not only requiring high levels of competency, but a willingness to work hard, work smart, be self-starting, produce high quality results the first time, and have loyalty to the team and company.
Part B: This is not a ‘flat-rate’ position, not a new car dealership, and not a ‘follow the computerized diagnostic routine. Most of our repairs/restoration are performed on 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s vintage American vehicles. Considering the vehicle’s age involved, your experience and certifications are key factors. The environment requires that you be primarily self-sufficient; however, peer and management support is available when needed.
Part C: Typical work assignment: Begin the project by completely inspecting and driving a 1969 351, 4 speed Mustang. Inspect all components and complete a repair/safety vehicle report. Estimate hours required to repair all components in need and submit to management for customer approval. Disassemble all brake components for R&R. Drain old gasoline from carburetor and fuel tank. Rebuild the carb, tune as required, rebuild and set differential clearances, replace cam, and complete all other repairs. All repairs must be completed within the customer approved hours or provide sound reasons why additional hours are needed.
Part D: Compensation is provided in two ways. 1. An hourly rate based on clock time with an expectation of a 40 hours work week, Saturday and Sunday work is generally not required. Depending on your billable work week, a weekly bonus of up to $300.00 is provided in addition to your normal hourly earnings. The accumulated weekly bonuses are paid monthly. Payroll is every two weeks. (and yes, the checks are always on time and will never bounce)
Part E: Benefits include excellent PPO medical insurance with 80% of the employee’s premium being paid by the company. 2 weeks of paid time off (PTO) per year is provided. PTO begins accruing and is usable after the first 30 days of employment.
6 paid holidays per year. (additional insurance benefits and matching 401k are under consideration)
Hourly rate is very dependent upon your work experience, related job knowledge, references, ASE Master certifications, and overall ability to be a success in the job position.
Potential hourly rate: $29 to $$$$?? per clock hour depending on factors above.

We are not a high-volume, production collision shop. Our focus is precision, authenticity, and quality.
Complete disassembly and reassembly of vehicles, including labeling, documentation, and organized parts management.
Metal straightening, panel replacement, rust repair, and structural alignment.
Minor fabrication and welding for repairs and part reproduction.
Collaborate with the team on long-term projects involving full chassis and body restorations.
Work through common restoration challenges: ill-fitting aftermarket parts, incomplete vehicles, rusted or previously poorly repaired sections.
Apply practical solutions while honoring originality and customer expectations.
Actively contribute to a respectful, team-driven shop environment.
Offer support and mentorship to less experienced technicians.
Share knowledge and ideas to elevate the overall quality of the shop’s output.

MIG welding required; TIG welding is a plus.
Experience with disassembly/reassembly of vintage vehicles with proper documentation and organization.
High level of attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship.
Collision repair experience is a strong plus—especially if you’ve transitioned from production work to restoration. While this is not a production shop, the foundation of collision skills (panel alignment, dent repair, etc.) is valuable and transferable.
Mechanical skills are a bonus, though not required for this position.
Familiarity with PPG paint systems is preferred, but not mandatory.
Verifiable references from previous restoration employers or clients.
Must pass a background check.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
