Offered by Cars Remember When is this very original 1968 Road Runner specially ordered in beige over a two-tone beige interior with a dealer-installed textured top known as the "Petty Top". Under the hood is the original 383 V8 paired to a 4-speed manual with a bench seat. This car is well documented and cared for by all its past owners. It still has the original build sheet, owners manual, and warranty card & book.
This car was originally purchased in Canada and is a unique survivor car in excellent condition. It is still equipped with the original exhaust system! This was an early production Road Runner and was specially ordered without a radio. The original owner then had the dealership install an AM radio, power antenna (date stamp correct), tachometer, and a triple gauge set. The dealer also installed the textured top that was made to look like a vinyl roof, there are not many of these around anymore so this is a rare treat!
This car was featured in Mopar Collectors Guide magazine in 2002. They talked about its history, the background of its owners and the unique color and top. Please find the PDF on our website to read this amazing article! The magazine refers to this car as the "Ugly Stick" due to its unique color combo and the large 4-speed gear shifter!
